Abel Ferrara’s movie 4:44 Last Day On Earth just premiered at the 49th annual New York Film Festival, and it features NY1’s Pat Kiernan, who made a cameo in the film. George Whipple talked to the director about Pat’s time in front of the camera, and Ferrara gave him this message: “Pat, you outdid yourself, bro. We tried to get an actor to do you, but we couldn’t. He couldn’t come close.” So… who could play Pat Kiernan on the big screen, if we were forced to have something less than the real thing?
The newsman said, “One of the Broadway chat rooms once did a NY1 Fantasy Casting thread and they settled on Aaron Tveit. He’s younger and hunkier than the real me, but had a similar look. I was quite pleased with the choice.”
If by “broadway chat rooms” he means Lin Manuel Miranda on Twitter.
